“This is Not New” Inspirations

Perfect for a quick drive out to the Hamptons for pumpkin and apple picking.

Pink pants, gingham shirt, strappy wedges, and an oversized clutch is a perfect outfit for a picnic at your family's favorite park.

Button down, scarf, coat with fur collar, ballet flats, and a chic brief case are pieces needed for one to achieve the Blair Waldorf look.

Who doesn't love the classic look of a blazer and button down with a fierce bag?

Is country clubbing in your future? If so, if not, celebrate the 4th of July with this festive dress and bag. You can never go wrong while supporting the U.S.A.

A floral dress is best for a spring or summer wedding. Dress it up with a great necklace and heels and it becomes instantly fancier. Dress it down with flats and a cardigan and you are ready for an outdoor gathering.

Hi Again

Hi all!

I hope everyone had a great summer!  It was a world-wind for me: working, taking classes, spending time with the family, and, of course, shopping for back to school clothes!

This year I am going for a chic, yet comfortable looks that transition well from 4 hours of classes to an interview with the dean of the university to a delicious dinner with friends.

New York Fashion Week has me coveting designers from Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta to Alice+Olivia.  It has been enlightening and inspiring to be able to see the magnificent lines from all of the different designers.

My goals for this year are to add a bit of sparkle and shimmer whenever I can and also to keep all of my outfits fun and transitional.

In the past, I posted pieces that I had purchased and loved.  This year, I will share with you how I styled each outfit and different accessories.  So keep an eye out for different outfits and I hope that I can inspire you one way or another!

Formal Formal Formal

I love when woman wear elegant gowns (obvious from the massive amounts of pictures from the Academy Awards) and when men where suits.  (Not to say women don’t look great in pant suits – my mom can rock a hot pink on – thank you 8th grade graduation for me!)  It reminds me of balls and old school times.  Here are a few evening gowns that I have found that I feel in love with.  Enjoy.  Live.Love.LAUGH.

It’s Oscar Time!

Last night at the 83rd Academy Awards, ladies and gentlemen alike were looking very dapper in their finest.  Here are a few that made an impression on me last night…

“Spread the Word to End the Word”

March 2, 2011 is this year’s day to “Spread the Word to End the Word.”  The R-word has a derogatory meaning in today’s culture.  It is a  hurtful word that so many people from middle school and to the U.S. Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel use in common conversations and debates.  It is no longer a medical term; it is a weapon.  I took The Pledge on http://www.r-word.org two years ago and I do not regret it at all.  I encourage you all to check out the website, what it stands for, and take The Pledge as well.
